The 2006 Annual BFA Exhibition features work by nearly 100 candidates for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Kansas City Art Institute, majoring in art history, ceramics, creative writing, design, fiber, illustration, interdisciplinary, new media, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.

A discussion will be held on topics in contemporary art and the 2006 Annual BFA Exhibition with guest critics Elizabeth Dunbar, Curator, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, David Dowell, Principle Partner, El Dorado, Inc., Raechell Smith, Director, Artspace, and special guest Kate Hackman, Assistant Director, Charlotte Street Foundation and Director, Art in the Loop.

Phyllis Moore, chair of the college’s liberal arts department is hosting Reading the Refrigerator, a public program highlighting excerpts taken from Compendium 2006: The Icebox Issue. Compendium is a collection of written work by students who have majored or double-majored in creative writing or art history. Students presented works of poetry, short stories, and art history theses.
