Drawing Attention

John Ferry, Professor of Illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute, has been selected to participate in the upcoming TOTALLY OPEN exhibition at Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ferry's work will be featured alongside 18 other pieces by artists from across the United States, Italy, and Germany. The exhibition will be held from March 7 through April 4, 2025.

Ferry, an illustrator and painter with over 20 years of professional experience, submitted two paintings that were chosen for inclusion—Chicago #1 (16” x 10”) and Chicago #7 (24” x 8.5”).

These works were inspired by a recent visit to Chicago, where Ferry took note of the city’s alleys and buildings. Click here to visit Ferry's Instagram page.

TOTALLY OPEN invited artists to submit work without a specific theme in mind. The result is a showcase of diverse visual art, selected through a curatorial process that uncovers unexpected connections and themes.

Manifest Gallery, known for its contemporary art exhibitions, received 664 entries from 226 artists for this open-call show, highlighting the level of competition in the selection.
