Internships

KCAI students are encouraged to enroll in at least one internship during their academic career. Internships are considered so important for the art school grad, in fact, that some studios have made an internship a graduation requirement.

Career advisors, professional artists, and businesses of all types report that an internship or multiple internships for art students bring important benefits to them upon graduation, including professional experience, enhanced skills, and self-confidence, as well as the opportunity to interact with professionals who may one day be colleagues or peers.

Internships are available in a variety of fields appropriate to the student’s professional goals, from galleries and museums to non-profit community agencies to production studios, design agencies and fabrication businesses.
