Touching Land: tool for radical imagination
Art practices are the most powerful tool for change. In a world that forces us to live so much in our heads, the job of the artist is to guide us into our bodies and back into our hearts. Social justice issues, mental health, climate change are all issues that are best elucidated through art practices. Because, when you get a lump of clay in your hands, it doesn’t matter who you are, what language you speak, what degrees you hold, you are forced to BE present in the moment, you are connected to land, to DIRT, the earth, a captive audience giving rise to your imagination and empathy.
