Safety Considerations During the Pandemic:
Only KCAI students, faculty and staff will be admitted to Jannes Library; swipe your KCAI ID card at the front door. All others: email email@example.com to inquire about a possible appointment to visit Jannes Library. Masks are required at all times inside of the building, regardless of vaccination status. Occupancy levels are restricted to allow for safe distancing. KCAI users are welcome to browse the stacks and relax with a good book or article in our reading rooms.
The book return bin behind Jannes Library is open at all times: place your returns in our outdoor receptacle, and there is no need to enter the library.
M.J. Poehler, director of library, firstname.lastname@example.org or 816-802-3393
Lora Farrell, cataloging and digital services librarian, email@example.com or 816-802-3394
Megan Channell, circulation coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org or 816-802-3391
Students are welcome to schedule an appointment for an individual research session with the librarians: M.J. Poehler or Lora Farrell.
KCAI’s Archives are located in the basement of Jannes Library. Materials in the Archives document the history of the Kansas City Art Institute from 1885 to the present time. The Archives include KCAI publications, exhibition files, pamphlets, posters, maps, photographs, audiotapes, films, and scrapbooks. We do not have art in the archive. Our subjects include (but are not limited to) the KCAI campus and its buildings, KCAI faculty, and art exhibitions and other special events occurring throughout KCAI’s history. An appointment is required in order to view archives materials. To schedule an appointment or for assistance with Archives queries contact Elizabeth Davis via email at email@example.com or by phone at 816-802-3395.
