Safety Considerations During the Pandemic:
Due to the pandemic we are not able to admit the public to the building. KCAI students and May 2021 graduates, to access Jannes Library this summer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, include your ID number, and request that your ID card be enabled for Jannes access. Unless you are fully vaccinated, masks are required at all times inside of the building. Occupancy levels are severely restricted to allow for safe distancing. Library staff will collect library users’ contact information and track dates and times when present in Jannes.
Jannes Library staff members are available to assist KCAI students, faculty, and staff members with your information needs. We want to help. We are staying in touch via email, Google Meet, and online Chat (for Chat, see below, this page). Expect a prompt reply within the open hours listed above.
The book return bin behind Jannes Library is open at all times: place your returns in our outdoor receptacle, and there is no need to enter the library.

KCAI’s Archives are located in the basement of Jannes Library. Materials in the Archives document the history of the Kansas City Art Institute from 1885 to the present time. The Archives include KCAI publications, exhibition files, pamphlets, posters, maps, photographs, audiotapes, films, and scrapbooks. We do not have art in the archive. Our subjects include (but are not limited to) the KCAI campus and its buildings, KCAI faculty, and art exhibitions and other special events occurring throughout KCAI’s history. An appointment is required in order to view archives materials. To schedule an appointment or for assistance with Archives queries contact Elizabeth Davis via email at email@example.com or by phone at 816-802-3395.
