Living on Campus
Barbara Marshall Residence Hall
Opened in January of 2020, the Barbara Marshall Residence Hall is the center for student life on campus. The new Residence Hall features suite-style rooms with semi-private bathrooms and basic furniture. Residents can relax in one of many common spaces and study lounges after a long day in the studio, unwind in the game room, or rev-up in the fitness center. All students will have healthy and tasty food options in the new Wylie Dining or can grab coffee and snacks in Café Nerman, KCAI’s very own coffee shop.
Freshmen must fulfill a two-semester contract in the Residence Hall, except for students who are over 21 years old, transfer students or students who will be living with their parents (within a 30-mile radius). Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Living Off Campus
KCAI is located in a residential neighborhood called Southmoreland, noted for tree-lined streets, large homes and many apartment buildings from the 1920s. Students seeking off-campus housing are encouraged to take time and ask questions before signing a rental agreement. KCAI wants students to have a living experience that supports their life as a student.
For questions and resources regarding off-campus housing contact the Assistant Director for Housing and Student Activities at email@example.com, or 816-802-3358.
Student Renters’ Insurance Options
We recommend that students have insurance in place before moving into the Residence Hall, or an off-campus property. KCAI is not responsible for damages to or losses of personal property. Some families may be covered through their homeowners or renters insurance policies to cover a student’s belongings while they are in college.
