Reading Room VII
10.11.2018 - 12.15.2018
Presented in the Artspace’s Cohen Resource Library, Reading Room VII is an exhibition organized to compliment the 2018 Charlotte Street Foundation Visual Artist Award exhibition by displaying research materials and objects of inspiration. Curator Jennier Baker asked artists Marie Bannerot McInerney, Jarrett Mellenbruch, and Jillian Youngbird to contribute an artifact that was a point of inquiry and collected a selection of books that give context to the art on view. Objects and books included in the exhibition are listed below.
Marie Bannerot McInerney, chalcedony stalactite fragment from the Jawa Tengah Province, Indonesia
Jarrett Mellenbruch, bag of 1,000 Coast Redwood seeds
Jillian Youngbird, damaged photograph of Lida Grace Chism, the artist’s maternal grandmother
