Darcy received her B.F.A. in Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1991. She received an M.F.A. in Fine Art from Cornell University in 1993.
Darcy began her professional career at KCAI in 1993, teaching photography. Within a year, she became the Director of Summer Programs. A year after that, Darcy joined the Admissions team as an Admissions Coordinator, a role that would become her life’s work and passion.
While recruiting for KCAI, Darcy sought opportunities for creative expression and professional enrichment. She taught experimental photography for the summer program in Idyllwild, CA in 1997 and 1998. She sat on the board for the National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA) for six years, serving as president twice during that time.
Darcy became Vice President of Enrollment Management in the midst of the global pandemic, and is leading the Admissions department through a shifting higher education landscape and post-pandemic challenges with exceptional success, consistently delivering KCAI's highest enrollment in the history of the college. In all, Darcy has proudly served KCAI for over 30 years, and counting.
Darcy has two daughters: Ainsley is pursuing a degree in Sports Management at Baker University, and Naida is a sophomore in the theatre program at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). She is also a doting cat mom, Disney fanatic, avid puzzler, shark enthusiast, Star Trekkie, and popcorn lover.
