Prior to joining KCAI, Giffen led advancement efforts at Greenville University, where he personally raised $19 million and oversaw a campaign that doubled its goal, totaling more than $60 million. His diverse background includes leadership roles with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield Arts Collaborative, where he co-led an award-winning $7 million endowment campaign. 

“Scott is a recognized philanthropic matchmaker known for his results-oriented approach and his ability to create community and tell stories about arts and progress,” said Dr. Peggy Shannon, the Nerman Family President of the Kansas City Art Institute. “His leadership will be vital as we expand our footprint in the Kansas City region and beyond.” 

Giffen holds an M.S. in Arts Administration from Drexel University and is a graduate of the Briner School of Business. He resides in Kansas City and remains active in the local nonprofit and arts community.

His first day with KCAI will be Monday, February 2.
