Edward Gallucci’s 55-Year Photographic Career Celebrated in New Quarterly Magazine
Alum Edward Gallucci (‘68 Graphic Design) has been named the "Artist of Merit" in the inaugural issue of Photografique, a new quarterly magazine dedicated to showcasing exceptional, jury-selected photography from around the world. Earning the top featured spot in the publication's debut edition highlights Gallucci's enduring impact on the photographic arts and places him at the forefront of a global pool of talent.
The issue features a four-page spread dedicated to Gallucci, showcasing a 55-year career that has documented some of the most recognizable figures in American pop culture. The selected black-and-white works highlight his timeless, documentary-style approach, inspired by French master Henri Cartier-Bresson, and include striking portraits of cultural icons like Muhammad Ali, musician Eubie Blake, and Captain Beefheart.
Gallucci's inclusion in Photografique adds to an expansive resume that already boasts more than 40 Newsweek covers, editorial spreads in Rolling Stone, and a place locally in the permanent collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The complete first issue, featuring Gallucci alongside 45 other global photographers, is available to view online at photografique.com.
