About The Event
Asha FUTTERMAN is an actor and poet from Chicago. She is a recent MFA graduate and former teaching fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. Her poetry chapbook is forthcoming from The Song Cave, and her poems have been published or are forthcoming in The Bennington Review, Conduit Magazine, The Journal, ANMLY’s Radical Avant Garde Poets of Color Folio, and Interim Poetics. She currently teaches children in Brooklyn.
Mitchell KING is a poet and educator living in Kansas City. He completed his B.A. at Rockhurst University and received his MFA through Stony Brook University. His work has appeared online and in print at BOAAT, The Adroit Journal, Gigantic Sequins, Baest, Rust+Moth, Nat.Brut and more. He is the author of The Mostly True Memoirs Of A Witch, Stubborn Mule Press 2019.
Nancy MILLER GOMEZ is the author of Inconsolable Objects (YesYes Books) and the chapbook Punishment (Rattle chapbook series), a collection of poems and essays about her experience teaching poetry in prisons and jails. Her work has appeared in Best American Poetry, Best New Poets, Prairie Schooner, The Adroit Journal, TriQuarterly, New Ohio Review, Plume, The Rumpus, Rattle, Verse Daily, and elsewhere. She received a special mention in the 2023 Pushcart Prize Anthology. She co-founded an organization that provides writing workshops to incarcerated women and men.
