Information sessions are two-hour events that allow you to experience what your life would be like at KCAI. These in-depth visits give you an opportunity to learn about KCAI in a structured and engaging format.

Counselor Meeting and/or Portfolio Review
These one-on-one meetings provide an opportunity for students to meet with an Admissions Counselor. A Counselor meeting is a great way to find out more about KCAI, get feedback on your portfolio, and ask any questions you might have. Already been admitted to KCAI? A Counselor meeting is still a great way to get your questions answered, there is no need to bring your portfolio. *If you’ve graduated from high school and have attended college, please consider signing up for a transfer meeting instead.

Transfer Meeting and Portfolio Review
Are you a high school graduate who has taken college-level classes? If so, a transfer meeting will allow you to meet one-on-one with our Senior Academic Affairs Specialist to discuss how KCAI can help you achieve your educational and artistic goals. Use this time to discuss the transferability of earned college credits, the application requirements, and what’s needed in your portfolio.

Group Visit
Schools and other organizations wishing to bring groups of fifteen or more high school age students to campus should use the “Register Now” button to customize your visit. Please note: KCAI welcomes high school age groups, however, we do not censor student work and cannot predict what work will be on display. Our students often work with sensitive issues that might be challenging for younger audiences, including topics exploring sexuality, politics or other sensitive subjects.

Special Accommodations
Our campus tours require extensive walking and navigation of hills and stairs, so please contact us ahead of time if anyone in your party has difficulty with mobility. Campus Closings
When our campus is closed due to severe weather or holidays, our tours and information sessions are canceled. You will find information about campus closings on our homepage or by calling the automated line at 800.522.5224.

Parking on Campus
We must ask for your patience! KCAI is undergoing exciting construction for a new student living center. As a result, visitor parking is limited. You can access the visitor lot by taking an immediate left upon entering campus at 4415 Warwick Blvd. These spots are complementary and first-come, first-serve. Handicap accessible parking can be reserved with 24 hours advance notice.

Additional parking may be available at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art garage during the times listed below. Please use the KCAI campus map for parking directions.

The Country Club Plaza is very close to our KCAI campus and has several area hotels only a short distance from our central green area, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art.
