Before taking the top job at Kansas City Art Institute in May 2025, Shannon earned accolades in the U.S., Canada and Europe for her work in arts education. Among her honors is the King Charles III Coronation Medal, won in 2024.
KCAI bought a former hotel last year to boost housing for students and is a big stop on The Arterie, a pathway in the city’s arts and museum district."
