Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs Hiring Committee
As the academic leader of an inclusive, creative educational community, the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs at KCAI ensures the College promotes creative progress and pursues sustainable educational practices in fine arts, liberal studies, and design.
Timeline of the Search
The Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs (EVPAA) Search Committee was appointed in Summer 2026 following an open call for nominations. The Committee convened in August 2026 to begin developing the job description for KCAI’s next EVPAA. Dean of Academic Affairs, Cyan Meeks, assumed the role of Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Cory Imig was promoted to Associate Dean of Professional Practice & Strategic Partnerships.
During this upcoming academic year, the hiring committee will engage internal stakeholders to develop and refine the job description. The committee’s commitment to broad consultation with the KCAI community will help guide the evaluation and recommendation of candidates. Throughout the 2026-27 academic year and while developing the job description, the Hiring Committee will receive input on the key opportunities and challenges facing KCAI, as well as the key qualities the community would like to see in the next Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The position will be posted publicly later in 2027. Three to four candidates will ultimately be shortlisted and invited to deliver in-person presentations to the KCAI community, meeting with students, faculty and staff.
