All Americans traveling outside of the U.S. should enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive travel and security updates about their destination and ensure the U.S. Department of State can contact them in case of emergency. This free service offered by the U.S. Department of State – Bureau of Consular Affairs helps citizens stay informed, stay connected and stay safe while overseas.
