Enrollment

Summer Intersession is offered as part of our regular academic curriculum. B.F.A. students may enroll for no more than six (6) credit hours per session. Enrollment is completed through web registration on your MyKCAI portal.

Tuition

Tuition is $440 per credit hour. Students registering for studio classes are required to pay studio fees of $34 per credit hour, as well as any additional materials fee specific to the studio. Tuition and fees for Session I are due in full in the Business Office by Friday, May 17. Tuition and fees for Session II are due in full in the Business Office by Friday, June 21. Enrollments will be canceled the day after this payment deadline if payment has not been received.

Unpaid Students

Students who have enrolled but have not paid will be automatically dropped from the class. Remaining spots in the class will be filled on a first come, first served basis after the deadline. Students may re-enroll and pay to secure a spot if it is available.

Financial Aid

Degree-seeking students enrolled in at least 6 hours are eligible to apply for federal assistance during the summer sessions.

The federal Pell Grant and direct loans (Subsidized, Unsubsidized and PLUS) are available.  Please contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss possible loan options.

Tuition Refunds

Refunds for Intersession classes are calculated on the date the student officially withdraws in the Registrar’s Office and are subject to a $35 processing fee. Refunds requested by mail will be calculated by the postmarked date.

The amount of tuition refund if officially withdrawn is the following:
100% through the second day of the term
50% through the third day of the term
25% through the fourth day of the term
0% after the fourth day of the term

There are no refunds for withdrawals from courses after the fourth day of the class. 100% of all tuition and fees will be refunded within four weeks if a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment.

Visiting Students and Community Members

Visiting students and community members are welcome to take Intersession courses and may register online at www.kcai.edu/artforeveryone or by visiting Continuing Education’s office on the second floor of the Jannes Library and Learning Center. Tuition details and refund policies are the same as above.

Students hoping to transfer credits earned at KCAI to other institutions should consult with their academic advisors at those institutions for approval.
