Business and Community Partnerships

Business and community partners of Kansas City Art Institute provide a significant portion of the school’s funding and are truly the pillars of support for the college.

Corporations and foundations can support KCAI in several different ways: through the corporate partners program, through sponsorship of an annual fundraising event or through grant support. The investment these organizations make directly impacts the creative culture and economic health of Kansas City, the lives of many talented young artists who will go on to be leaders in their fields and the future of art and design as a whole.

Business Partnerships

Our corporate partners program offers a variety of opportunities for organizations to become more involved with students, faculty and alumni, including invitations to on-campus student exhibitions and sales, discounts on continuing education classes and recognition benefits.

Many organizations choose to support KCAI's scholarship fund through a gift to support our annual fundraising event. Events include the biennial gala held in the spring which rotates with the biennial Art and Design Auction held in June. Sponsorship support provides organizations with an exciting evening of entertainment plus a unique and valuable marketing opportunity. There are several sponsorship levels to choose from as well as special sponsorship opportunities.

KCAI also offers a variety of projects amenable to specific grant funding. Needs range from financial assistance for special programs, such as our Community Arts and Service Learning certificate program, to capital projects and technology upgrades.

Requests for proposals should be sent to the attention of Randy Williams, Kansas City Art Institute, 4415 Warwick Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64111. For more information, contact Williams at 816-802-3527 or

KCAI works with organizations throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area and within the arts community to offer students hands-on, "real world" experience. Labeled "America's Creative Crossroads" by the Kansas City Area Development Council, the city offers students rare opportunities to experience creative entrepreneurship and community involvement first-hand.

The college has developed relationships with organizations such as the Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City, Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, Charlotte Street Foundation and Art in the Loop with the Downtown Council of Kansas City, to name a few. Without the support and shared aspirations of bringing great art to the forefront of Kansas City, KCAI would not be able to continue to offer students access to exhibition space, artmaking grants, public art installation opportunities and networking events.
