Art Store

No shoes? Still in your bathrobe? No problem. Kansas City Art Institute's Art Store, located in the basement of the Student Living Center, is your one stop-shop for anything an art student might need.

In addition to carrying all textbooks required for KCAI courses, the store carries a full line of art, design and drafting supplies as well as specialty items all at or below retail pricing. The store also sells a wide variety of chips, candy and KCAI clothing and souvenirs. And, if you need to send a letter or package, the store is a full-service mail center. The store ships both USPS and UPS and will even let customers use their packaging tape.
The Art Store is open to the public, but its first priority is serving the needs of KCAI's students and faculty, followed closely by those needs of alumni. These needs affect what the Art Store carries. If you do not find what you need, let them know, and they we will do their best to carry it in the future. Because of limited space, the store is unable to store some larger items, but they are happy to order them for you at a deep discount. Their motto is: "Ask and you shall receive."

The Art Store accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

The Art Store opened in the 1960s and was initially operated by the Cook Paint Co. Later the store was turned over to KCAI to operate. It is now a department within KCAI and, like the college, operates as a nonprofit organization.
