An opening reception for the 2015 KCAI Faculty Biennial will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the H&R Block Artspace, 16 E. 43rd St. The exhibition continues through Oct. 3.
The Artspace presents a biennial exhibition of works by faculty at the Kansas City Art Institute. Organized by the Educational Outreach and Exhibition Committee of the Faculty Assembly the exhibition will introduce recent work by KCAI artists.
The artists featured in the exhibition include: Cary Esser, Julie Farstad, Dwight Frizzel, Richard Mattson, Karen McCoy, Jason Pollen, Warren Rosser, Jim Sajovic , Gary Sutton, Pauline Verbeek-Cowart

"The 2015 Charlotte Street Foundation Visual Artist Awards exhibition" opens today and runs through Dec. 16. The exhibition features new work by Jill Downan, Rashawn Griffith and Misha Kligman.
The Charlotte Street Visual Artist Awards Fellows were selected through a competitive processes, which began with an open call for applications from artists based in the 5‐County Kansas City Metro Area. The selection processes culminated in studio visits with 10 finalists for the Visual Artist Awards.
Charlotte Street launched its Visual Artist Awards in 1997. These Awards aim to recognize and meaningfully support exceptional artists working in the visual arts field, who are actively creating new contemporary work. The Awards recognize accomplishments to date as well as promise for continued artistic development and achievement.
