Printmaking

Printmaking

Intaglio, wood block, lithography, letterpress, silk-screen, digital interventions and bookmaking give layered nuance to all images: The technical process becomes part of the piece.  The printmaking curriculum strikes a balance between learning skills and concepts and the development of the students' individual studio work.

Traditional printmaking tools provide a framework for innovation and may lead you into digital imagery. At the same time, digital processes may serve as preface for traditional approaches and techniques.

You might exhibit fine art prints, make posters in the artisan tradition or create animation rendered from all sorts of print media. You also examine the culture and its communications, a study as diverse as the tools you use. You discover the multiple functions of image and emerge as an accomplished artist and printmaker.
