During the exhibition, Artspace staff and guest curators from Kansas City and beyond select work from the Flatfile for a series of dynamic salon-style installations that changed on a weekly basis.

The Flatfile features two-dimensional work in all media including drawings, photography, prints and mixed media works on paper.  The Videofile presents a selection of time­ based artwork in DVD and VHS formats.

Wednesday, October 26, 2005: An Evening for Contemporary Art Collectors with Jack Lemon of Landfall Press

Saturday, November 5, 2005: Hamza Walker, curator of the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago and national advisor to Kansas City’s Charlotte Street Foundation, will engage in a discussion with the public at 3:30 p.m. about works he selects from the Flatfile for a salon wall.

Tuesday, November 29,2005: Through the Visiting Critic and Curator Program, James Elaine, curator of the Hammer Project series at UCLA Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, will gave an illustrated talk at 7:00 p.m. about his curatorial projects after two days of studio visits with Kansas City artists.
