Lethem is an award-winning novelist whose books include Motherless Brooklyn, Chronic City, The Ecstasy of Influence, and The Fortress of Solitude. His newest book, A Gambler’s Anatomy (Doubleday 2016), is a noirish novel about, among other things, the shadowy world of backgammon. Lethem was born in New York and spent his early childhood on the KCAI campus where his father, the painter Richard Lethem, was on the faculty. In 2005, Lethem was awarded a MacArthur “Genius” fellowship, and he currently teaches at Pomona College, where he is the Roy Disney Chair of Creative Writing.
