Have you always had an interest in art history, but felt out of your element? Many people look with interest at the world of art but never feel comfortable taking the first step. The Art Sofa Series will introduce you to key items necessary to gain a solid foundation for learning about art and the history in which it was made. This series is comprised of five classes, students may take these courses chronologically but do not need to start at the beginning!
This chronological list of classes includes:
The Ancient World
Medieval through Renaissance
Late Renaissance through Realism
Impressionism through Surrealism
Modern and Contemporary
Grab a seat, get comfortable and join us for a fun, informal examination of art history. Classes are listed online under Art History. You are encouraged to begin the series with Art Sofa: Preview.
Have you taken all of the first series of classes? Students are also encouraged to take the Art Sofa Elective Series! These classes explore specific periods of art history and is designed to allow students to dive deeper, but still comfortably, into art history.
Courses include French New Wave Film, American Film since 1940, The Medici Family Collection and Significance and Ancient Chinese Ceramics.
