Artist Julie Malen will speak at 7 p.m. in Epperson Auditorium in Vanderslice Hall on the Kansas City Art Institute campus as part of the college's "Current Perspectives" lecture series. Malen collages photographs with natural fragments and cultural debris in mixed media installations to create the feeling of moving through many places and histories at once. She completed her B.F.A. degree at KCAI in 2009 and an M.F.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and she has participated in numerous artist residencies.
The lecture will take place in Epperson Auditorium, which is located in Vanderslice Hall on the KCAI campus. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit: kcai.edu/currentperspectives.
