The best way to know if you have what it takes to study art at the college level is to give it a try. Every summer KCAI hosts talented high school students from around the country to live and study on campus during the Pre-College ArtLab (PCAL). Students leave the program with figure drawings, writing samples, and studio work for their portfolios as well as three college credits. Most importantly, they gain confidence for their first year of college.
PCAL instructors, along with admissions counselors, residents assistants, teaching assistants, and Continuing Education staff are anxious to help you explore your creativity and craft this summer.
You work hard all school-year fostering creativity in others. So, why not let KCAI nurture your artistic practice this summer during the Educators ArtLab (EAL)? During EAL, high school art educators from around the country spend a full week living on campus exploring new ideas and techniques with KCAI faculty. If selected to participate, you’ll be pushed, pampered, and primed for another rewarding year in the classroom.
